Handbell Choir
St. John church is proud of the Joyful Ringers, its hand bell choir. Under the direction of Amy Drake, they participate in the 10:30 a.m. worship service on the fourth Sunday of each month, as well as on special days of the church year such as Christmas Eve, Lent, and Easter.
Weekly practices are held every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. If you or anyone you know would like to join the choir, or would like to learn more about it, contact the St. John church office at (618) 475-2947.
Current members of the hand bell choir are always happy to see (and hear) new ringers join the group. A musical background is a plus, but not a must. Choir members insist that, if you can count to four, you can ring hand bells. Come find out if they’re right!
